Local plants, local people.
The Pickens Herbalist Guild ties together a group bound by the roots of a community in North Georgia. Membership has no residency requirements – we have folks from Ellijay, Atlanta, Gainesville.
Not all of us are from here – but we got here as fast as we could. We love this place and we especially love its soil, and the plants that grow in it.
We meet monthly, usually in Jasper, to share knowledge and experience about plants that are medicinal (and sometimes edible, too). We make tinctures, teas, salves and other healing goodies, and we talk about how we have used these treatments.
This website is just another place to meet during the times between seeing each other.

Do I have to come to Jasper to meet ya’ll. I live in Atlanta. I’m a gardener for self, neighbors and nonprofits. Does this group ever come to Atlanta or Decatur? Where is Jasper anyway?

Sorry I did not see this comment sooner!! We are all people based in North Georgia but we do meet in and around Pickens County because we’re drawing from Gainesville to Ellijay to Atlanta.
There is also the Georgia Herbalists Guild, and they usually meet in Atlanta, so give them a try also!
